Abstract

1,184,187. Two-part couplings. ERIE TECHNOLOGICAL PRODUCTS Ltd. 2 Oct., 1967 [26 Sept., 1966] No. 42946/66. Heading H2E. A coaxial cable termination which isolates an aerial from a receiver comprises a coaxial socket 1, 2 connectible to a coaxial plug, the outer contact 1 being linked to metal housing 6, and so being in electrical connection with the outer electrode of tubular capacitor 11 through closure plate 15 and collar 13. Coaxial cable 10 passes into the housing through capacitor 11, its outer braided conductor being held between metal washers 9 located in countersunk bush 7 and so being connected to the inner electrode of the capacitor. Inner conductor 18 and insulation 20 of cable 10 extend beyond the termination of the outer conductor through an aperture in bush 7 the inner conductor 18 contacting one electrode of disc capacitor 19, the other electrode being connected to the inner contact 2 of the socket. The device is held together by pressing closure member 15 inwardly and turning over the ends 16 of housing 6.
