Abstract

985,249. Two-part couplings. TE INDUSTRIES Inc. Dec. 17, 1962 [Jan. 3, 1962], No. 47542/62. Heading H2E. A plug connector for a coaxial cable 10 comprises a metallic baseplate 4 with a hollow metallic plug 26, at right angles to the plate but insulated from it by the bushing 42 and the washer 35. The plug has a cylindrical bore 25 into which a plastic pin 27, of hexagonal crosssection and tapered to facilitate entry, fits tightly, clamping the inner conductor. A hollow insulating shell 8 screwed to the base-plate has a notch 11 to receive and secure the cable against lugs 14, 15 and projecting lugs 17, 18 which co-operate with lugs 19 in the base-plate to make contact with the outer covering 23 of the cable.
