Abstract

942,835. Electric couplings. E. H. TAYLOR, and OTTER CONTROLS Ltd. June 20, 1962 [March 20, 1961], No. 10078/61. Heading H2E. An electrical coupiing consists of a coil of wire 3 into which the end of an electrical conductor 1, which is bent back over its insulation 2, is inserted, the coil 3 then being crimped round the conductor as at 3a. The free end of the coil is then pushed on to a pin or tag 4, screwed on to a bolt, Fig. 5 (not shown), on to a smaller diameter coil, into a larger diameter coil, or through a hole in a panel, Fig. 7 (not shown), or the last two turns may be bent at right angles to form a collar through which a bolt is passed, Fig. 4 (not shown). The coil may have half its length of reduced diameter, this preventing the conductor 1 from being inserted more than half way. The connector may be covered by an insulating sleeve.
