Ltd 5 Sept 1972 [8 Sept 1971 23 Nov 1971] 41982/71 and 54339/71 Heading H2E A connector for joining branch conductors 20, 21 to an insulated conductor 2 employs an insulation-piercing screw 8, threaded into a block 4 which, together with a spring strip 11, forms a collar round the main conductor. Clamping screws 17, 18 for the branch conductors may be threaded either into the strip 11 or directly into the block 4. The strip 11 may carry hard insulating projections 24, such as glass beads, which penetrate the insulation. and provide mechanical support for the conductor.
