Abstract

1404182 Terminals RISTS WIRES & CABLES Ltd 19 Oct 1972 [15 Jan 1972] 2012/72 Heading H2E The bared conductor of a cable 1 is secured, by a crimping operation, into the bore 8 of a bolt 3, which clamps a split collar connector 2 on to a battery terminal post. The force applied to the lugs 4 by a nut 10 and the square head 7 of the bolt not only secures the split collar but also establishes an electrical connection. A shoulder 11 engages a face of the square head to prevent rotation. A part of the portion 9, which is deformable during crimping, may be of a reduced wall thickness and may be of non- circular form, Fig. 3 (not shown).
