Abstract

662,406. Two-part couplings. UNITEDCARR FASTENER CORPORATION. Oct. 28, 1949 [Oct. 30, 1948], No. 27703/49. Class 38 (i). A socket connector comprises a cup-shaped metal member 13 having a tubular portion and a rounded end, presenting smooth exterior surfaces and edges to eliminate corona discharge, and containing a resilient contact member 14. The rounded end has an aperture 16 therein, with inturned edges, for a lead 21 which is soldered to a central portion 17 of the member 14. Resilient legs 18 forming contact portions 19 extend from portion 17, their outer ends 20 engaging in an inturned flange 15 at the open end of member 13. The socket is shown co-operating with a stud connector 11 on the envelope 10 of a discharge device.
