Abstract

1,019,608. Two-part couplings. AMP Inc. Sept. 12, 1963 [Oct. 9, 1962], No. 35933/63. Heading H2E. An electrical socket contact suitable for use in the housing described in Specification 1,019,607 comprises a substantially flat rectangular tab portion of sheet-metal having opposite sides 6, 7 rolled inwardly to define a tab-receiving portion, and at an intermediate edge two ferrule-forming portions 2, 4, one for gripping the bared end 3 of a wire and the other, 4, for gripping the insulation 5, these ferruleforming portions not projecting outwardly beyond the edge of the tab-receiving portion. The tab portion is retained in the housing by means of a spring finger 9, which engages a shoulder in the housing.
