Abstract

531,947. Couplings. CARR FASTENER CO., Ltd., and WAGSTAFF, G. Aug. 9, 1939, No. 22967. [Class 38 (i)] A plug or other contact terminal 1 is attached to a lead 13 by means of a split resilient socket 5 compressed on to the lead by means of a slidable ring 11 may be split. The socket 5 is attached to the terminal 1 by crimping it at 7 over a flange 8 on an insulation 4 fitted over a thickened end 2 of the terminal. Depressions 10 of progressively increasing depth form integral projections to make good contact with a braiding 16 on the lead. The terminal co-op rates with a socket that fits the plug 1 and has a larger socket crimped to an insulator on the socket to form a mounting and to receive the socket 5.
