Abstract

811,825. Two-part connectors. MULLER, G. Aug. 7, 1957 [Aug. 18, 1956], No. 24877/57. Class 38 (1). An electrical connector consists of two interengageable members, one member being resilient and of oval cross-section so that its cross sectional shape conforms to that of the other, which is circular, during engagement. Fig. 1 shows a socket 2 formed by an oval tube of a resilient material, such as bronze, which is engaged by a circular plug 1. In an alternative form the plug may consist of a resilient oval tube, Fig. 3 (not shown), which engages a socket of circular cross section. The socket, in this case, may have a flared end to facilitate insertion of the plug.
