Abstract

952,531. Two-part couplings. O. CONCONI. June 27, 1963, No. 46729/61. Heading H2E. A cable is connected to a terminal plate 3 by a detachable connector having two pairs of wings (not shown) for gripping the cable sheath and conductor, and a resilient end plate 9 with a bridge strap 7 formed by pressing up the section between two transverse slits. A wedgeshaped tongue 6 on the end of plate 3 is inserted between the strap 7 and connector plate 9 until shoulders 4 and an aperture 5 in the plate 3 engage the connector strap 7 and a raised pip 8 respectively. In a similar construction (Fig. 3, not shown), the connector has two parallel bridge-straps. In another embodiment, Fig. 4, the side edges of the plate 9<SP>11</SP> are downwardly bent and the ends 13 of a bridge strap 10 are bent round as shown, said ends co-operating with a pip 14 on the strap 10 to engage a terminal plate inserted between the strap and the plate 9<SP>11</SP>
