Abstract

938,784. Two-part couplings. S. D. SULLAM Ltd. March 21, 1961 [March 21, 1960], No. 9866/60. Class 38 (1). A socket outlet incorporating one or more sockets comprises as shown an elongated body 1 in recesses of which are mounted two conductor strips 5 and 6 on each of which is riveted two U-shaped resilient metal socket contacts forming a pair of sockets. Riveted to the ends of each conductor strip and to the body 1, are terminal blocks 9 for connection to two cables 12. A cover-plate (not shown) has two contact entry apertures for co-operating plugs, designed to accept either round-pin plugs or flat pin plugs, and the body 1 has apertures 11 at each end for receiving the cables.
