In a plug or socket connector comprising a metal shell 12 enclosing a resilient block 11 supporting contacts 14 connected to the conductors 16 of a cable 17, the connections being embedded in insulating material 18 surrounded by a casing 19 screw-threaded on the shell 12, earthing of the shell is effected by a contact strip 21 trapped at one end between the shell and insert and extending through the material 18 to the outside of the connector, the outer end of the strip carrying a terminal 22.
