Abstract

728,646. Two-part couplings. AIRCRAFTMARINE PRODUCTS, Inc. Sept. 24, 1953 [Sept. 26, 1952], No. 26342/53. Class 38 (1). Connectors which may be detachably interengaged with one another are formed in a continuous strip and each comprises a ferrule portion 16, Fig. 2, which is crimped onto a wire after being detached from the strip, and an integral channel portion 13. Extending from the channel is a blade 14 on the end of which is a guide tab 15. The sides 21 of the channel are curled over and down towards the base of the channel which has a central detent 24, the blade having an indent 25. Two such connectors are interengaged as shown in Fig. 6, one connector being inverted with respect to the other. The tabs 15 prevent incorrect coupling and slide between the ends 22 of sides 21 which press the connectors together face to face, indent 25 on each connector co-operating with detent 24 on the other connector to hold the connectors together. The ends 22 may be curled back towards the junctions of sides 21 with the base of the channel, which enables a narrower connector to be produced (Fig. 7, not shown).
