Abstract
512,701. Couplings. CALLENDER'S CABLE & CONSTRUCTION CO., Ltd. and BRYCE, S. J. March 18, 1938, No. 8395. [Class 38 (i)] A device for enabling a tapping to be taken from a cable consists of two metal members 1, 2 adapted to be slid into' engagement as shown in Fig. 8. The member 1 is provided with screws 8 and a terminal 10 as shown in Fig. 1. A bared portion of the cable from which a tapping is to be taken is laid in the member 2 and the member 1 slid in position. The screws 8 are then turned till they make contact with the cable, the pressure also causing the parts 1 and 2 to become frictionally secured together. Two similar devices may be surrounded by a single casting of insulating material. The tapping is taken from the terminal 10.
