Abstract

578,788. Two-part couplings. CINCH MANUFACTURING CORPORATION. May 19, 1944, No. 9687. Convention date, June 18, 1943. [Class 38 (i)] A contact socket suitable for snap fastener connection with a stud-like connector 3 of an electron discharge tube T, comprises resilient fingers 12 integral with a disc-like metal body 11, all embedded in a flexible sheath 6 of rubber, and a coil spring 18 surrounding the neck 16 of the socket 12, to increase its hold. The fingers 12, body 11, and a terminal 13, are formed from a single blank of sheet metal 10, the arms 12 of which are bent under and then outwards, and the terminal 13 of which has wings 14 for clenching over a conductor C. The disc 11 is curved so as to reduce corona losses on high voltages.
