Abstract

643,320. Bottle closures. STALLER, J. Aug. 5, 1948, No. 22861/49. Divided out of 643,284. [Class 125(iii)] In a bottle closure of the type described in Specification 643,284, the protuberance formed in the wall of the cover 22, after insertion thereof, is in the form of an annular ridge 24 which not only bears against the inner edge of the cap 20 but also engages in the internal wall surface of the resilient sealing ring 21. As shown, the inner upper edge of cap 20 is curved downwards to fit the flared rim 26 of the cover. The cover is made of thin material, and is convex at 23 to withstand internal pressure. It may be removed by a piercing tool 25.
