Abstract

704,514. Making hollow-ware. BABLIK, H., and BABLIK, H. June 19, 1952 [June 22, 1951], No. 15500/52. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). [Also in Group XVII] Jointing.-The bung-hole ring 9 of a container is formed of square-sectioned metal coiled on a hexagonal mandrel and then cut into sections, flattened, screwed and conically recessed. The container is formed with a neck comprising an hexagonal flange 4 integral with an inturned circular lip 5. The ring is positioned on the neck with the hexagonal surfaces contiguous and pressure is applied to deform the lip 5 in the recess 12 and to close up the hexagonal faces. A packing washer may be positioned on the outside face of the ring.
