Abstract

The neck of the bottle (1) is formed to give two annular rings (1a) separated by a groove (1b). These, being of larger diameter, form a lip at the junction with the bottle. A stopper (2) fits inside the neck, locating on the top surface of the opening. A cap (3), of metal foil, is placed over this assembly and its skirt is rolled to form the lower edge (3d) under the protruding rim. This skirt is also rolled into the recess (1b) in the bottle neck, forming an annular depression (3e). An easy opening strip (3c) is provided, being formed by two lines of rupture (3b) in the foil.
