Abstract

638,038. Hose couplings. HIGH-PRESSURE COMPONENTS, Ltd., and WILLIAMS, J. C. Nov. 25, 1947, No. 31232. [Class 99(i)] In a coupling wherein a flexible pipe is compressed onto a spigot 5 by a split collet 16 radially contracted by means of a sleeve nut 3 screwed on to the body 1, the spigot is located within an axial boring of the body by a shoulder 15 formed on the spigot and a circlip 13, projecting radially from a groove of the spigot, respectively engaging opposite sides of an end wall of the body. The coupling may be used for pipes having a reinforcement which is gripped between the collet and body. Specification 564,515 is referred to. According to the Provisional Specification the coupling may be adapted to connect oppositely disposed pipes.
