607,112. Pipe joints. HIGH-PRESSURE COMPONENTS, Ltd., and WINBY, L. P. Jan. 25, 1946, No. 2584. [Class 99 (i)] A pipe joint comprises a coupling member 1 having a conical spigot 4 adapted to enter the flared end of the pipe 6, one or more annular grooves 7 in the conical surface of the spigot, a coupling nut 3 screwing on to the coupling member and having an internal conical surface 8, and a collet 9, split throughout its length and of truncated conical form between the nut and flared pipe end. The collet may have a cylindrical extension 10. The grooves 7 may be of straightsided formation. Specification 564,515 is referred to.
