625,612. Pipe joints. HEYGATE, J. R. June 13, 1947, No. 15684. [Class 99(i)] A ball-and-socket joint comprises a socket 21 having a cylindrical bore, packing rings 18, 19 fitting the bore on opposite sides of a ball 16, and a nut 22 screwing on to the socket and engaging the projecting end of the ring 19. The nut is locked by a screw 27 engaging a selected peripheral notch in the nut. The ball and socket are formed as elbows 10, 11. Specifications 25826/02, [Class 99], and 447,502 are referred to.
