562,716. Hose couplings. COMPOFLEX CO., Ltd., and GEBBIE, W. P. V. Jan. 9, 1943, No. 466. [Class 99 (i)] A coupling for hose having a coiled wire internal armouring comprises a spigot having a helical groove 4 and annular recess 5 for the reception of the wire and a coupling sleeve 2 screwing on to the spigot, the spigot and sleeve having opposed conical surfaces 7, 17 which clamp the flared end of the hose between them. The surface 7 may be of greater conicity than the surface 17 and the recess 5 may be shallower than the helical groove 4. The other end of the spigot may be provided with a nut 9 and nipple 11.
