Abstract

693,295. Pipe joints. CHIKSAN CO. Aug. 15, 1950, No. 20220/50. Class 99 (i). Coupling members 1, 2 have internal screwthreads for engaging the pipe ends, the member 2 having a conical seat 8 for a sealing ring 6 and an enlarged bore 9 for the spigot portion 10 of the member 1. A recess 5 for the sealing ring has a surface 4 converging with the conical seat to form a metal-to-metal joint externally of the sealing ring. In a modification the surface 4 is radial and engages the end surface of the member 2. The coupling nut 11 has coarse threads.
