Abstract
632,250. Hinges. SVARTVIKS AKTIEBOLAG. July 28, 1947, No. 20318. Convention date, May 12, 1943. [Class 65 (ii)] A hinge for a horizontally pivoting window is of the kind comprising an intermediate member 3 pivoted at 7 to the frame fitting 1 and formed with a slot 15 receiving a pin 6 on the window fitting 2, the arrangement being such that the window 17 can swing with the intermediate member into a ventilating position, determined by the engagement of the intermediate member with a stop 4 on the frame fitting, and thereafter, for cleaning purposes, substantially through 180 degrees on the pin 6. The hinge is characterised in that the slot 15 extends from the edge of the intermediate member and is engaged, between the closed and ventilating positions, by an abutment pin 5 on the window fitting. To exclude draught when the window is closed the intermediate member is provided with an edge flange 10, and wooden fillets are fitted to the frame and window respectively, the fillets abutting outwardly of the pivot 7 and forming a recess inwardly to permit the angular movement of the intermediate member.
