Abstract

692,662. Windows. CRITTALL MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. March 11, 1952 [April 2, 1951], No. 7636/51. Class 20(iii) Comprises a device for normally restricting the amount by which a casement window may be opened (e.g. to prevent a child falling out of the window), but which may be adjusted to permit full opening. The pivoted frame 4 is provided with an inwardly directed projection 5 which in the closed position shown lies within an open-ended slot 3 in a bracket 2 secured to the inside of the stationary frame 1. The end of the slot is closed by an arm 7 pivoted at 6 to the bracket 2 and normally abutting against a stop thereon. The arm is moved aside by the projection as it enters the slot to a position limited by another slot 9 or it may be moved aside manually to permit full -opening of the casement.
