Abstract
591,696. Windows. WOOD, E. May 4, 1945, No. 11416. [Class 20 (iii)] [Also in Group XXV] The movable frame 10 of a casement or fanlight is supported by arms 16 pivoted, at one end, to fixtures 19 on the movable frame and, at the other, to brackets 12 on the stationary frame 11. A projection 21, carried by the fixture 19, co-operates with a slotted guide 22 which may be formed as a portion of the bracket 12. The side of the movable frame which, when shut, is nearest the hinge axis is thus slidingly guided across the window opening during the pivotal opening and closing movement of the sash and the outside of the sash is thus rendered accessible from inside the building for cleaning. The brackets 12 are L-shaped, one limb being secured to side face and the other to the front face of the stationary frame.
