Abstract

1,116,822. Folding doors. P. NIEDER and R. ODDICINI. 20 Nov., 1965, No. 49385/65. Headings E1J and E2F. A door or window structure for a wall opening having jamb members 2, 2a comprises at least two panels 4, 5 revolving about respective spoced-apart axes at 7 and 6, a stationary axis of rotation of the panel 4 being a fixed pivot thereof at 7 near the jamb 2 and a movable axis of rotation of the panel 5 being a pivot at 6, on means fixed on the panel 4 where shown and laterally offset with respect to it, the frame having resilient means for engagement by the panel 5 on closing the door or window. When closed the panel 5 is received in the rabbet 3a and engages a rubber pad 10 or an iron stop member 5' towards the panel top engages a resilient member 10' projecting down from the head of the frame. The panel 5 may be slidably guided at 8 along a path defined by the frame head. The hinges joining the panels are shown in Fig. 3.
