Abstract

657,436. Windows. CLARK, G. Feb. 8, 1949, No. 3390. [Class 20(iii)] The inner frame 1 of a window is mounted about a shaft 3 that has a gearwheel 6 at each end engaging a horizontal rack'within the top and bottom, members of the stationary frame whereby as the shaft travels from one side of the stationary frame to the other the inner frame becomes reversed; means are provided to latch it to either side stile of the stationary frame. The inner frame is made from generally triangular section stock as shown in Fig. 2 having an aperture at it's apex 1a in which the glass pane is held. Three sides of the inner frame form a unit which is easily removable, as by means of screws and brackets 12, 13, from the fourth side which is the one by which the frame is mounted on the shaft 3. The shaft 3 may be divided at 8-10 whereby the inner frame may be completely removed from the stationary frame.
