[Class 20 (iii)] A method of making the fixed frames, sash frames, and panels for double windows or double doors consists in dividing a metal frame in the door or window plane into two separate frames, and in'interconnecting the two frames by fittings, such as hinges, clasping means, mouldings, or the like, while they are still in the position which they had occupied in the undivided frame. In the construction shown, double casement-window sashes 10, 11 are formed by. cutting a frame 1 along the lines 6 - - - 9. Prior to the cutting operation, small cuts 2, 3 are formed in the frame adjacent to the hinges 4 and clasping means 5, and the latter are secured in position. Alternatively, removable fastening means are fitted to the frame 1 and are left in position until the division of the frame and the attachment of the hinges and like fittings.have been effected.
