490,280. Window frames. PEREMI, E., and TOTH, L. Nov. 10, 1936, No. 14740/38. Divided out of 486,950. [Class 20 (iii)] A window frame comprises a rigid outer reinforcing frame of ferrous metal adapted for mounting as a unit in the wall of a building, the surfaces of the frame which are exposed when so mounted being covered by inner frame members of non-corrosive metal, which are provided with seats for mounting the sashes. In the construction shown, the outer frame is formed of steel angle-bars 46 secured together at their ends and located within channel portions 46a of the inner members 42, 43, of extruded non-corrosive metal. The flanges of the inner frame members parallel to the plane of the window, serve as seatings for hinge sashes 13 or fixed lights 12, as desired. The inner frame members are'provided with short flanges 16, 17, which serve for the reception of weather-sealing strips 19 or glass-securing clips 20, as described in Specification 486,950. The transom or mullion bars 44 may be reinforced by steel or like bars 47, the exposed faces of the latter being covered by members 49 of non-corrosive metal.
