Abstract

409,604. Double casement windows. VOIGT, R., 187, F³rstenwall, D³sseldorf, Germany. Nov. 8, 1933, No. 31079. [Class 20 (iii).] The outer sash of a double casement metal window is provided with a second web 23 extended so as to engage a flange 3 on the inner sash and situated at a distance from the web of the inner sash. Firm contact between the outer sash and frame at the flanges 4, 16, is maintained by adjusting set-screws 43 passing through the flange 30 of the inner sash and bearing on the flanged end of the web 23. The hinge-sockets of both sashes are situated in an angle between one flange 18<a>, by which the fixed frame is anchored to the wall, and the web 15 which is suitably cut away for the lugs of the hinges, these lugs being concealed behind the flange 30 of the inner sash. The fastening bolts 40 are concealed behind the flange 3 also, and the protruding ends pass through openings 41 into the frame. Drain holes 25, 35, are provided in the lower horizontal members of the outer sash and frame.
