Abstract

452,680. Pivoted-sliding windows. EDWARDS, G. J., 6707, Maple Street, Vancouver, Canada. July 25, 1935, No. 21214. [Class 20 (iii)] Pivoted-sliding sashes have curved sliding stiles engaged by bent sheet-metal strips 11 having inwardly bent edges 13 slidable in the frame. The strips are pressed against the sash by conical springs 17 on screws 15 which function as sash pivots and by which the spring tension is adjusted. The ends of the springs may be bent to form sash-cord attachments 19. The strips may be reinforced with shaped and flanged strips 14.
