Abstract

346,163. Weather-excluders for windows. RUTH, J. F., 4249, West Easton Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A. April 4, 1930, No. 10803. [Class 20 (iii).] A weather-excluding strip for window or sash frames of angular section consists of a channelshaped spring strip 12 having a flat limb bedding on the frame and a curved limb adapted to engage the edge 16 of the sash &c. when closed, the strip being secured by means of a clip having a screwed flange 14 for a screw 15 and an inclined extension 13 engaging the flange 6 of the frame. The screw 15 may have a left and right-hand engagement with the clip and frame and be operated by pliers inserted beneath the curved limb, as shown in Fig. 6. Two strips may be mounted one in the sash and one in the frame, the curved edges of the strips engaging when the sash is in the closed position.
