Abstract

331,981. Hoskins, W. M. May 11, 1929. Draught and weather excluders, glazing; window frames.-A casement window having one or more flanges overlapping the frame is provided with rubber or like packing 6 inserted in a recess in the sash or frame adapted to be engaged by a rib 7 on the enagaging flange to make a liquid tight joint. The rubber packing may be applied as a U-shaped strip to an intermediate projecting flange on the frame and be engaged by an intermediate flange on the sash. A space 5 is preferably provided beneath the packing strip. The glass is secured by packing and fillets 23 screwed to the sash. The window illustrated is a ship's light.
