Abstract
367,739. Horizontally sliding windows. KOLLER, E., 10, Goschenenstrasse, Basle, Switzerland. Oct. 28, 1931, No. 29914. Convention date, Oct. 28, 1930. [Class 20 (iii).] A horizontallysliding sash is provided with offset supporting rollers 12 at its upper edge causing the sash to hang obliquely, in contact with packing strips 15, 25 on the lintel and sill, which strips engage the inner edges of U- shaped channel sash members. The supporting rail 16 and the outer limb of the lower sash nearly touch the sash and sill respectively. To facilitate glazing, one limb of the channel may be made shallow, wooden packing bars 31 being inserted beneath the glass. The packing strip 15 has a horizontal limb extending nearly to the front member of the sash. Fixed windows, with or without hinged sashes, may be combined with the sliding windows. The sashes are preferably made of anticorrosive light metal capable of welding and surface treatment.
