Abstract

294,438. Donaldson Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Hadden, W. J. Jan. 12, 1928. Hinged-sliding windows; casements; weather excluders. - The upper sash 6 is hinged to the balanced sliding window frame 3, and the lower window sash 15 is hinged or pivoted in the frame. The lower sash has a projection 22 and bevelled edge on its upper rail engaging the bottom rail of the upper sash and the meeting edges of each sash and frame are bevelled and rabbeted, a corrugated weather strip of spring metal 40 being secured by nails in the rabbet, Fig. 6. The parting bead 18 is provided with a drainage groove and the lower rail 11 of the sliding frame is inclined to carry away rainwater, &c. The lower sash is provided with a weather excluder 25, as described in Specification 270,885.
