[Class 20 (iii)] In a metal window construction in which sealing between a hinged sash 27 and the fixed frame 9 is effected bv resilient folded V- section members 32, the frame members are formed with flanges 13, 16, parallel to the plane of the window and provided. at their ends with inturned lips 14, 17, by which the sealing members are retained in. position. The vertex portions of the sealing strips are received behind the lips 14, and the free limbs 33, against which the sash members engage in the closed position, are of sufficient length to ensure that their ends engage with the lips 17 when the sash is opened.. In the case of a window fitted with two adjacent hinged sashes, the meeting stiles thereof may be provided with T -section striking and sealing bars, a V-section sealing strip being attached. to one of the bars, which is formed with a lip with which the free edge of the sealing strip engages when the sashes are opened. A pane of glass may be mounted in the fixed frame members, the glass being pressed against the lip portions 17 by spring clips engaging in the lips 14. The peripheral frame members are secured to reinforcing steel angle-bars 7 mounted in the wall of the building. Specification 486,950 is referred to.
