Abstract

361,392. Window frames; jambs. VITS, L., 6, Rue du Cardinal, Brussels, Belgium. July 18, 1930, No. 21816. [Class 20 (iii).] A door, window, or like frame comprises channel side members to the inner sides of which are secured sash guides 13 and to the open front a member 2 of Z-shape, and a sill member C of inverted U-shape is secured between the lower ends. The lintel B is also of U-shape closed by a member of Z-shape. The members A, B, C are preferably reinforced with U- or L-shaped members 7 riveted thereto and to each other. The sash members are of T-shape mitred at the corners and joined by riveted lining plates. The sash guides comprise channel-irons 13, removably secured to the sides and fixed to the lintel if desired. Bent spring strips 18 or an inturned edge of a sash guide may be provided to prevent rattling. The upper face of the sill is downwardly inclined to shed water.
