Abstract

471,429. Window frames; sashes balanced one against the other. LEEMHUIS, J. C. P. March 3, 1936, No. 6449. [Class 20 (iii)] A window sash and frame are made of rolled metal and the frame has ribs 8, 9, 10, and an opposed flange 14, on the sides and top forming channels for the sliding sashes, the ribs 9 and 10 being of equal size and larger than the rib 8. The sill has two ribs 12, 13, and a flange 14 at the end remote from the ribs and on the opposite side of the central web 11. The frame is welded at the corners and secured to the wall by the flanges 14. The sashes are of Z-section and preferably balanced one against the other by chain 20 and pulley 21.
