Abstract

501,530. Casement windows. POMIANKOWSKI, F., MOTTET, J., and MONTFORT, M. VAN. Aug. 30, 1937, No. 23686. Convention date, Sept. 4, 1936. [Class 20 (iii)] The contacting pairs of flanges l, band p, f of the frame and sash members of a metal casement window,are formed at the ends with interengaging stepped portions c, e, d and g, i, h respectively, whereby sealing against draughts and weather is effected by three contacting surfaces at both the inside and outside of the window. The sash members are provided with glass-retaining flanges j, and the frame members with building-in flanges t, v, hinges u being secured to the flanges t, b. According to a modification, the flange t of the frame member may be positioned at the middle of the web k, the frame and sash members being connected together by hinges secured to the outer part of the web k and the flange b.
