Abstract

151,109. Speaker, G. R. June 25, 1919. Window frames; door frames.-Frames of windows, doors &c. are made of thin sheet metal rolled to the required shape cut and bent as shown at 4. Fig. 1 with lapping-pieces 4<1>. The sides 2 of the frame, are joined to the sill 3 by tongues 5 entering the sill and bent over. The casement frame 6 is formed from a single rolled bar cut and bent at three corners and joined by welding or by clips. The glazing-bars 7 are formed with overlapping meeting edges and are drilled to take pegs for holding the glass previous to applying putty &c. In doors, the panels may be made of thin sheet steel, asbestos, &c. secured by metal or other beading.
