654,766. Door-operating appliances; stays for hinged articles. GAINSBOROUGH ENGINEERING CO. (OLDHAM), Ltd., and FIELDING W. Feb. 25, 1949, No. 6308. [Class 65(i)] In a spring-operated stay for a door F comprising an arm A pivoted at D to the door, an arm B pivoted at H about a fixed axis, and a spring N connected to the arm B and adapted to urge the pivot C between the arms towards one side or the other of a dead-centre line, a stop M adapted to limit the movement of the arm B during the opening movement is so arranged as to be engaged by the link A when the door is closed. The pivot H, the stop and the spring are mounted on a plate K provided with attachment flanges R. The spring may be attached alternatively to the pivot C or to the arm A.
