[Class 20 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXIII] Sliding doors, windows, or other shutters c, particularly for use on board ship, which slide along a rail or frame D are caused to be pressed to and released from the opening by a limited movement of the rail &c. itself on hinges E spaced a considerable distance from the opening. A clamp H rotatably carried on the wall has a cam groove engaged by a projection N on the frame to provide this movement ; the projection may be adjustable in a slot to permit of disengagement from the clamp to enable the frame to be swung away from the wall for inspection of the facing material. Modifications include the substitution of flat spring end pieces for the pivotal mounting of the frame and a counterbalanced door sliding vertically along a frame hinged about a horizontal axis at its lower end.
