Class 20(3) The lower sash m of a sliding sash window is slidably mounted to a metal channel d attached to a pulley stile a, between a posting bead f and a batten rod g, by means of two plates such as i which slide in the channel d and each have a hinge such as k which is screwed to the sash m. When it is desired to hinge the sash m inwards, e.g. for cleaning purposes, the lower portion of a batten rod p, on an opposite stile r, is hinged inward, and the sash m is raised slightly from its closed position to clear the top of the sill b before being rotated inwards about its hinges.
