Holders for sliding windows; sash fasteners, pivoted - arm type.-In a holder for sliding windows in which a spring-pressed ball carried by the window snaps into one or other of a number of apertures D in a metal &c. strip secured to the fixed frame B, the strip A has a longitudinal groove or track C and the ball G is in a cylinder F, being pressed outwards by a spring I disposed between a ball-race H and a plate J abutting against a screw K by which the spring pressure may be adjusted. The window may be held closed or its movement limited by a pivoted plate or plates Q carried by one sliding sash and adapted to be moved into dotted line position, Fig. 5, into the path of the other sash.
