Abstract

Pivoting-adjustments. -In a pivot device with two relatively rotatable too the d members kept in engagement by a spring for holding a window, fanlight, or the like in an adjusted position, provision is made for the sash plate to move away from the frame plate without affecting the engagement of the toothed members. As shown, the toothed member D is integral with the frame plate B and the toothed member C is separate from the sash plate A to provide for this lateral movement, the parts C, A rotating together by the engagement of a squared head 2 with the parallel rims 3 of the plate. A pivot pin E connects the parts together, and a cotter G and spring F retain the toothed members in constant engagement. In a modified construction the toothed member D is also formed as a separate member similar to the arrangement of the toothed member C. The pivot pin E may be formed as an integral part of one of the toothed members.
