Abstract
220,518. Johnson, G. J. Nov. 9, 1923. Fastenings for windows.-A fastening device for windows which allows partial opening thereof comprises a channel-shaped pendant member 3 pivoted to the upper sash to swing in a plane parallel to the window and engage, under gravity, a plate 9 on the lower sash. The pivot pin 4 acts as an abutment in the partially open position and is screwed into a ferrule 6, Fig. 3, screwed into the sash so that the device can be easily removed when it is desired to open the window fully. Fig. 7 shows a modification wherein the pendant member is pivoted to a short member 12 on the pivot 4 allowing it to swing also in a plane at right-angles to the window.
