Abstract

412,395. Stays. CAROSELLI, B., 150, Nassau Street, New York, U.S.A. May 18, 1933, No. 14445. [Class 65 (i).] A device for limiting the opening of doors particularly of vehicles, comprises arcuate members slidable relatively to one another and secured to the door and frame respectively, one of the members carrying a resilient element to be engaged and compressed by an abutment on the other member only after the door has opened some distance, so that the opening of the door is checked ; a handle or equivalent means is provided on the member secured to the door to enable the door to be closed conveniently from a position near the hinged edge. In the form shown a member 11 of C-section fixed to the door frame slides inside a member 12 of corresponding section fixed to the door, the member 11 having secured in its free end a spring 18 for engagement by a part 21, on the end of the member 12, when the door approaches its open position. The member 12 has fixed to it a handle 22 by which the door can be moved.
