Abstract

472,440. Hinges. TOSI, A. July 17, 1936, No. 19821. [Class 65 (ii)] In a door hinge comprising a plate 1 fixed to the door with a knuckle 2 fitting between knuckles on a member 4 fixed to the frame, with a hinge pin 7 passing through the knuckles and held in place by knobs screwed on its end, removal of the hinge pin is prevented when the door is closed, even if the knobs are removed, by a locking pin 10 which slides in the member 4 and passes through an aperture 91 in the knuckle 2 to enter a circumferential groove 9 in the pin 7. The locking pin 10 is projected into the engaging position by a spring strip 11 fixed at its ends to the member 4, and the end of the pin 10 and one side of the aperture 9<1> are bevelled so that the pin is automatically pressed back when the door is opened.
