Abstract

467,525. Hinges. MITCHELL, J. G. March 3, 1936, No. 6433. [Class 65 (ii)] A hinge, shown with the parts separated in the open position, comprises a pair of plates 1, 12 with interengaging knuckles 2, 10, 13 apertured for connection by a hinge pin, and the plate 1 has an enlarged part 3 (which is recessed into the member carrying the plate 1) formed with a chamber 4 with an integrally closed end, this chamber containing a spring 6 which presses a washer 7 against one of the knuckles 10 on the prate 12 to produce sufficient friction to hold the members in any position.
